Scion FR-S Reveal – AutoGuide.com!
Wednesday night, Denny Huang and a couple others, as well as myself were out in downtown Los Angeles, CA for the highly anticipated reveal of the Scion FR-S, the US version of the Toyota GT 86. I was asked earlier in the week by Jason Siu, of Tunerzine.com fame if I wanted to head up there to cover the event for AutoGuide.com and being the wonderful gentleman that I am, I obliged.
Having seen pictures online of what the GT 86 and Subaru BRZ had to offer, I had a pretty good idea of what to expect when I got there but to be honest, the car was actually pretty rad in person. Styling wise, the car is a little aggressive for my liking but if the price point is right, Scion definitely has a hit on their hands… I guess time will tell.
Usually passing on a lot of these events, it was nice to see a lot of familiar faces in attendance including Jarod DeAnda, who was emceeing the event, as well Jon Sibal, RJ, Ken Miyoshi and a lot of others that I won’t bother rambling off since you most likely don’t care anyways.

Los Angeles Auto Show Randomness
As usual, the Los Angeles Auto Show falls right after SEMA and as usual we made the drive up to Los Angeles to check it out. With a lot couple of the manufacturers that we work with releasing new models at the event, the real purpose was to check some of the cars out in person and see what platforms we might want to try and work on for next year.
Overall, the show had a lot of great new cars including the Ford Flex and of course the Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series but my favorite car there was probably the Chevrolet Cruze WTCC car. Enough talking, enjoy the pictures and remember you can click on them for larger versions.
LNYSA Mini Kickers!
For the last few months Neil and I have been coaching Collin and other kids in a local soccer league and this past Saturday was the last practice of the season. After the session all of the kids received their final patches and trophies and were treated to a little carnival action. Forgive me for not getting any pictures of said patches or trophy but here are the rest of the pictures of the other activities, enjoy!
Super-8 Wedding Video!
Matt and Chandra Kelsey made the long trek from Connecticut to join Kim and I on our wedding day. As a gift to us, they put together this awesome super-8 video from covering the festivities. A HUGE thanks to Matt and Chandra for coming all the way across the country and of course, for this awesome video!
2011 SEMA Show – Part Two!
Yay, SEMA!
If there’s one thing I hate at SEMA, it’s all of the idiots that walk the crowded halls of the convention center pulling those ridiculous suitcases. Come on, because it’s not annoying when people walk really slow to begin with, you and your suitcase filled with garbage you’ll most likely throw out before you go home isn’t making it any easier. Next year, be warned, I will find you and kick your suitcase.
2011 SEMA Show – Part One!
I know it’s late but that’s alright, no one really cares.
Anyhow, most of you know that that leading up to the beginning of November means the usual headaches of cars and all that good stuff leading up to the SEMA Show and this year was no different. This year we had five vehicles to get completed including a 2012 Honda Civic Si, a 2012 Ford Explorer, a 2012 Ford Mustang (for UTI,) a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze and of course, a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic.
With most of the manufacturers needing vehicles in Las Vegas the Sunday before the show begins, we decided to drive out early in the morning to make it there in time to set everything up and have enough time to not stress anything on the way out. Being the day before Halloween, Neil and I figured we’d fly out the following morning to make it home and take the kids trick or treating. We flew out of Vegas into Orange County where we met up with Warren and went along our merry way. Trick or treating went down and we were back in the car and on our way to BACK to Vegas within sixteen hours of leaving.
