Today Neil and I decided to head out to the Pomona Fairplex for the Grand National Roadster Show to check out some of last years Ridler contenders including five of the cars that made the Great Eight as well as the Ridler winner, “First Love” built by Troy Trepanier and the Rad Rides by Troy team. Getting the chance to see some of these cars up close shows how far the builders on the Import side really are from creating anything close to this. Hopefully the people in our industry can take a look at what these guys do and realize that craftsmanship is a lot more important than some realize. In the coming weeks we’ll be heading out to Michigan for the Detroit Autorama event and after seeing what we saw today, there’s a good chance that the cars that show up in Detroit surely won’t disappoint.
